The Research Laboratory of the Gelsenkirchen Music Theatre
MiR.LAB is the theatre’s open experimental space, situated right in the heart of Gelsenkirchen city centre. It is here that new musical theatre formats incorporating digital technologies, experimental productions and projects designed for audience participation and experimentation are created. Become part of the MiR.LAB community!
The range of projects extends from computer games in the foyer to drones in the Kleines Haus and performances in public spaces. At MiR.LAB, productions are developed, workshops are held and digital technologies are explored artistically. Together with local artists, international hackers and people of all ages from the Ruhr region, new forms of musical theatre are created, bridging the gap between the opera stage, urban spaces and digital worlds.

The online game based on *The Magic Flute*
„Dies sei dein Spiel!“ So heißt es in Mozarts Oper Die Zauberflöte. Genau daran knüpft das neue Game „Die Cyberflöte“ an. Das Computerspiel wurde in Workshops von Jugendlichen entwickelt, gestaltet und programmiert.
