Ghost Me, If You Can

Welcome to the digital in-between spaces! A ghost guides two lost souls through the endless labyrinth of data on their smartphones. There, folders full of family photos are piled high; here, cat videos pop up; the latest fake news flutters in through the window; and behind the door, trolls and Trojans are running rampant. How on earth are you supposed to find your way around? Where to put all this data? And how do you get out again? Two generations are wandering through the internet: whilst one thrives amidst the chaos of memes and trends, the other is stumped by the latest Windows update. The deeper they plunge into the digital inferno, the clearer its abysses become. In a fast-paced adventure, a teenager and a parent try to find their way back to each other amidst the chaos of social media. Will the two of them manage to break through their filter bubbles? The contemporary music theatre piece ‘Ghost Me, If You Can’, for three singers, was developed by the physical theatre collective sticky fragments in collaboration with school pupils and a group of senior citizens. Carried along by rhythmic beats and pop ballads by composer Victoria Stellpflug, Ghost, Parent and Teen plunge ever deeper into the web. The piece features integrated, artistic audio description. The vivid description of the production is an integral part of the piece and its musical narrative from the very beginning.
