MiR open
MiR is rehearsing
Come along to our rehearsal! After a brief introduction to the production, you’ll have the chance to experience our day-to-day work at first hand – from the very best seats in the stalls, so you don’t miss a single detail. A post-rehearsal discussion with members of the production team rounds off this extraordinary experience.
Listen to MiR
Audio description for visitors with visual impairments: On selected performance dates, we offer live audio description for blind and visually impaired visitors and their companions
. The audio descriptions are prepared in advance by a team of blind and sighted people and delivered live. Two hours before the performance begins, there is an introduction to the production in question. You will also have the opportunity to explore the costumes and props by touch, and, where possible, the stage area as well. Details of this free service, as well as all performance dates for the season, can be found on our website.
Music Brunch
At our musical brunch in the light-filled foyer of the Großes Haus, you’ll be thoroughly pampered. As well as our caterer’s extensive buffet, you can enjoy the musical treats performed by the singers of the MiR. You’ll find the dates in the events calendar and in the monthly leaflet.
dance.up close
Experience the dancers’ daily lives up close: a small group of audience members joins the company for their morning training session. TanzGelsenkirchen manager Michelle Yamamoto guides them through
the history of stage dance and its technical challenges.
MiR at my place
We’ll come to you! You’ll be visited by three members of staff from the MiR, who’ll bring along topics for conversation and some musical treats. The only condition for this free offer is that you bring together at least 10 people who have never been to the MiR before and provide some light refreshments.
Talk to MiR
Following selected performance dates, the bar at the MiR will remain open. Come and have a relaxed chat with the cast and crew of the production and join us as we round off the evening together!
MiR – My Stage
Take the place of our singers and dancers for a change – on selected performance dates in the Main Theatre, we offer you the chance to experience the MiR from an unusual perspective: let your gaze wander across the impressive auditorium from the stage. You can find the dates in the events calendar.
Introductions
Fancy picking up a few more details just before the performance? An introduction to the evening’s production or choreography usually takes place half an hour before the performance begins. We also offer audio introductions on our website.
