Accessible

Here at the MiR, we are committed to enabling cultural participation and interaction without barriers. We are constantly working to remove barriers and obstacles to access. Both the Small Theatre and the Main Theatre are designed to be accessible, so that our audience can enjoy our performances without restriction. Accessible lifts are available for wheelchair users and visitors with reduced mobility.

You can find the accessibility statement here.

How do I get to my seat?

Both the Großes Haus and the Kleines Haus have accessible lifts for wheelchair users and visitors with walking difficulties, which lead directly to the auditorium. Wheelchair users and their companions are asked to reserve special seats when purchasing tickets at the box office. On the evening of the performance, the ushers will be happy to assist you in reaching your seats.

Bringing a guide dog with you

For people with a visual impairment, if you are bringing a guide dog with you, please let us know at the theatre box office before booking your seat.

Audio Opera – Seeing with your ears?

Of course! For blind and visually impaired theatre-goers, and for those whose eyesight is failing, the MiR offers selected productions with live audio description.
