Lex Rütten
3D artist
Lex Rütten is a media artist, researcher and curator. He creates mixed-media installations and performances that view the technology-influenced living environment as a changing and formative part of the world. Through 3D world-building and with the aid of digital avatars, he creates cinematic and scenic narratives. He has been working as part of a duo with the artist Jana Kerima Stolzer since 2016. He completed his degree in Fine Art as a master’s student under Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster at the Düsseldorf Art Academy and is, amongst other things, an alumnus of the Academy for Theatre and Digitality. His works have been shown in national and international solo and group exhibitions, including at the Hartware MedienKunstVerein (Dortmund), LOOP Alt Space (Seoul), Duolon Museum of Modern Art (Shanghai) and Pixxelpoints (Nova Gorica). He also curated the NEXT LEVEL – Festival for Games, Interactive Art and Digital Theatre in 2024/2025.
