“Such tiny hands” – vulnerable, yet possessing their own creative power. Inspired by his first encounters in Gelsenkirchen and his experience of different ways of life and working realities, Muhammed Kaltuk’s first choreographic work for TanzGelsenkirchen explores the potential of every individual to make a difference, stand up for themselves and bring about change. What does that moment feel like when the impulse to stand up for oneself can no longer be ignored? What happens when expressing one’s own needs meets with resistance? What consequences can arise when individual scope for action clashes with social realities, and how differently such developments are perceived?
