The theme for the 26/27 season is once again: Move! The participatory youth dance project will enter its next phase from November 2026, when the dance club begins its rehearsals. Under the project leadership of
Marika Carena, the participating pupils from Gelsenkirchen will improvise, dance and work together to create their own dance piece. Over the course of the school year, they will work together with the dancers from TanzGelsenkirchen to develop a joint choreography, which will be performed on the main stage at the MiR at the end of the project in July 2027. During the regular rehearsals with the professionals, the young people can play an active part and explore and develop their own skills and means of expression. Each individual contributes their creative potential so that, in the end, everyone can shine together.

An information session for teachers interested in taking part in ‘Move! 2027’ with their class will take place in early October 2026. Details and dates can be found on our website and in the monthly leaflet.
