Hanno Busch & Friends

There are guitarists who stick to one genre, and then there’s Hanno Busch. Born in Wuppertal and winner of the 2026 WDR Jazz Prize, he has been playing for decades wherever things get interesting: with Peter Herbolzheimer’s Rhythm Combination & Brass, with the Heavytones on TV Total, with Michael Wollny’s Wunderkammer, and, since 2021, with Jan Delay’s Disko No. 1. As recently as this spring, he was a guest performer with the WDR Big Band in Gelsenkirchen. Now, to kick off the New Colours Festival 2026, he is coming to the ‘Kleines Haus’ at the Musiktheater im Revier with his own quartet and three guests. Among those joining him are Anna Luca, known as the singer with Club des Belugas, pianist Roman Babik and saxophonist Peter Weniger.
