Veronika Haller

Veronika Haller completed her musical training at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. She graduated with distinction in 2008 with a degree in Voice/Opera and Musical Theatre. At the same time, she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Instrumental and Vocal Pedagogy, majoring in piano and specialising in voice.

During her studies, she deepened her knowledge of piano and vocal pedagogy, general music education, early musical education, as well as conducting and choral conducting. From 2006 to 2007, she spent an ERASMUS year at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin, where she studied art song and oratorio with Wolfram Rieger. Her achievements were recognised, amongst other honours, with the Richard Wagner Scholarship in Bayreuth in 2007 and the Hanna Ludwig Prize in 2008. From 2010 to 2020, Veronika Haller worked as a soprano in opera and concert performances. She was a member of the supplementary choir of the Vienna State Opera Chorus at the 2013 Salzburg Festival and from autumn 2013 onwards. Until 2019, she was a permanent ensemble member of the Stadttheater Hagen in the first soprano section. During this time, she sang major roles such as Micaela in *Carmen*, Desdemona in *Otello*, Tatiana in *Eugene Onegin*, Marguerite in *Faust*, the Countess in *Le nozze di Figaro*, the Field Marshal’s Wife in *Der Rosenkavalier*, Cio-Cio-San in *Madama Butterfly*, Amelia in *Simon Boccanegra*, Floria Tosca in *Tosca* and Senta in *Der fliegende Holländer*.

In addition, she has made guest appearances at opera houses in Klagenfurt, Koblenz, Chemnitz, Mainz and Rostock. Her artistic career has also taken her to numerous concerts and recitals in Germany, Austria, Italy, Hungary, Argentina and England.

Alongside her work as a singer, Veronika Haller is increasingly involved in music education. From 2020 to 2022, she taught at the elementary level and on the JeKits programme (piano and orchestra) at the Dortmund Municipal Music School. From 2021 to 2023, she worked as a lecturer in singing and early musical education at the Max Reger Music School in Hagen. From autumn 2022 to 2024, she expanded her teaching responsibilities to include early musical education and JeKits singing at the Bochum Music School.

Since 2024, she has been working at the Gelsenkirchen Municipal Music School, where she serves as a singing tutor and head of the singing department. She is also the director of the children’s opera choir at the Musiktheater im Revier (MiR). Veronika Haller combines her extensive stage experience with her pedagogical expertise, inspiring both her audiences and her pupils.
