Sergio Augusto has a burning passion for opera and its power to move the human heart. In Vancouver, he studied acting and directing for film and theatre at the Methodica Acting Studio, as well as classical singing at Capilano University. Sergio Augusto’s highlights include the role of King Kaspar in Vancouver Opera’s first film production of Menotti’s Christmas opera ‘Amahl and the Night Visitors’, as well as concerts with the Okanagan Symphony Orchestra and the Prince George Symphony Orchestra. In the UK, Augusto played leading roles such as Orombello in Bellini’s rarely performed “Beatrice di Tenda” at the London Bel Canto Festival, which received rave reviews. Sergio Augusto has been living in Germany since 2023. Since then, he has appeared in numerous productions and concerts. His debut with the Starkenburg Philharmonic was hailed by the press for his expressive interpretation and virtuosity. Sergio Augusto is currently studying with the bel canto specialist Ken Querns-Langley. Augusto will join the ensemble at Wuppertal Opera in the 2026/27 season. / Photo: Kathryn Nickford
