Sandro Hähnel
Tenor & singer
The tenor Sandro Hähnel, born in Freiberg in Central Saxony, took lessons in guitar, accordion, piano, tenor horn and cello. He studied singing with Andreas Kohn at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen. In university productions, he played Basilio in *Le Nozze di Figaro* (2022), Pluto in *Orpheus in the Underworld* (2023) and Male Chorus in Britten’s *The Rape of Lucretia* (2024). As Merkur in Offenbach’s “Orpheus in the Underworld”, he appeared on stage at the Musikalische Komödie Leipzig (2025) and the Halle Opera (2026). In 2019, he sang at the Venice Biennale in the award-winning opera performance “Sun and Sea”, with which he has since performed internationally (including at La Grande Halle de la Villette in Paris, the Esplanade in Singapore and the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires).
