Patrick Fuchs
Head of the Lighting Department
Patrick Fuchs was born in Nuremberg and began exploring the fields of lighting and lighting design whilst still studying theatre and music studies. During this time, he worked for, amongst others, independent theatre groups, television and numerous theatres in the Nuremberg, Fürth and Erlangen region. After completing his studies, he worked primarily in the field of dance for companies and choreographers such as Neuer Tanz Düsseldorf, Meg Stuart and Rui Horta, both nationally and internationally.
After successfully qualifying as a lighting technician and later as a stage manager, he worked, amongst other things, on the cultural programme for the German Pavilion at Expo 2000 in Hanover, for a wide variety of festivals, as well as repeatedly for the Ruhrtriennale and the State Theatres in Mainz and Braunschweig, for example with Hans Neuenfels, Robert Wilson, Georges Delnon and Martin Schläpfer.
Since 2006, Patrick Fuchs has been employed at the Musiktheater im Revier as a lighting inspector and, since 2014, as head of the lighting department. Here he works with, amongst others, the directors Roland Schwab, Elisabeth Stöppler and Artistic Director Michael Schulz, as well as the set designers Kathrin Brose, Dieter Richter and Hermann Feuchter. His collaboration with Bridget Breiner has resulted in, amongst others, the ballets ‘Ruß’ and ‘Swan Lake’.
