Karolina Halbig began her musical training at a young age with piano and organ lessons and sang in various choirs. She studied school music, majoring in piano and specialising in singing, at the Würzburg University of Music, and completed her studies in 2016 with the first state examination. She then continued her training at the State University of Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart, where she completed a Master’s degree in accompaniment under Prof. Bernhard Epstein. During this time, she gained her first experience as an accompanist at the Wilhelma Theatre and with the Young Opera of the Stuttgart State Opera. She also conducted various choirs, thereby broadening her musical versatility. From 2019 to 2021, she was a member of the opera studio at the Opéra national du Rhin in Strasbourg as a répétiteur, where she gained valuable international experience. She subsequently worked on a freelance basis, performing at venues including the Opéra du Rhin, Den Jyske Opera in Aarhus and the Royal Danish Opera in Copenhagen. She is still regularly invited there as a guest for productions with the Opera Academy. During this time, she had the opportunity to work with renowned conductors such as Jessica Cottis, Robert Houssart, Vincenzo Milletari and Hossein Pishkar.
