Dan Molnar

Artist

Dan Molnar is a Berlin-based artist who works with sound, light and real-time technologies to create immersive experiences for installations and live performances. Originally from Hungary and trained as an electrical engineer, he combines technical depth with a keen sense of music and movement. The result is work that is both precise and expressive. His artistic practice began with designing visuals for his own music and gradually expanded to include generative art, interactive systems and large-scale audiovisual environments. Today, Dan works on projects ranging from intimate experimental spaces to large venues and complex multimedia installations. He is a co-founder of DEREAL Studio in Berlin, where he focuses on uniting creative visions with solid technical execution. Dan is also actively involved in the creative tech community. He shares his working processes through tutorial videos and workshops and develops bespoke tools for other artists and studios. Throughout his body of work, Daniel strives to create space for individual interpretation – environments in which sound, movement and light invite the audience to experience and construct their own meanings, rather than follow a predetermined narrative. His focus is on creating moments of presence in which technology supports emotions and personal perspective.
