Annette Reifig

Head of Studies and Artistic Coordinator

Annette Reifig, who was born in Kleve on the Lower Rhine, was already working as a church musician before she completed her A-levels, after which she went on to study piano at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen. She then went on to study art song accompaniment at the Cologne University of Music. Throughout her studies, she held various teaching posts at youth music schools. After completing her studies, she took up a post as a solo coach at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein. From 1995, she held the same position at the Bremer Theater, where she became head of training two years later. At the same time, she was engaged on several occasions as a guest at the Lower Saxony State Theatre in Hanover. From 2003 to 2008, she then took up the post of Head of Musical Studies at the National Theatre in Weimar. With the start of General Director Michael Schulz’s tenure in the 2008–09 season, Annette Reifig moved to the Musiktheater im Revier in the same role, where she has since regularly appeared as a highly accomplished lieder accompanist. She has also held a teaching post in accompaniment at the Cologne University of Music since 2009.
