Anke Sieloff

Anke Sieloff received her musical training at the Stuttgart University of Music under Prof. Sylvia Geszty. She has won prizes at several opera and musical theatre competitions and was awarded the State of North Rhine-Westphalia’s Encouragement Prize in 1998. Her repertoire ranges from Baroque to contemporary opera. In recent years, she has focused on roles by Mozart and Rossini, such as Cherubino (‘The Marriage of Figaro’), Sextus (‘Titus’), Dorabella (*Così fan tutte*), Zerlina (*Don Giovanni*), Rosina (*The Barber of Seville*), the title role in *Cenerentola* and Corinna (*The Journey to Reims*).

In addition, she has played the title roles in Bizet’s “Carmen” and Debussy’s “Pelléas et Mélisande”, Didon in Berlioz’s “Les Troyens”, the Composer in Strauss’s “Ariadne auf Naxos” and many more. She has always had a particular love for musicals. At the Musiktheater im Revier, where she has been a member of the company since the 1993–94 season, she has sung the leading roles in musicals such as “Evita”, “West Side Story”, “Kiss Me, Kate”, ‘Crazy for You’, ‘Anything Goes’ and ‘The Life’. Anke Sieloff has been a regular guest at the Handel Festival in Halle since 2002. In the same year, she released her first solo CD, ‘The Singer’.

From 2006 to 2009, she held a teaching post in popular singing at the Lübeck University of Music and in classical singing at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen. In 2014, she released her second CD, “DANKE” – featuring her own lyrics and compositions for the first time, as well as arias by George Frideric Handel. At the Musiktheater im Revier, she regularly took part in concerts as part of the “MiR Goes” series, where she performed songs by ABBA, Queen and the “Rat Pack”, amongst others, and was a member of the ensemble for the request show “Fifty-Fifty”.
