The World as a Game

How does a world begin, and where does it end? Books, games and operas are teeming not only with eccentric characters and intricate stories, but with entire universes – at MiR.LAB, we’ll simply invent our very own in three workshops this May! We’ll pack our bags and take with us: an idea? A landscape? A time? Characters? A mission? Whether using paper, playing cards, VR or music: we’ll decide the rules of the game ourselves. To coincide with the MiR.LAB world premiere of the science fiction opera “At the End of the World” on 22 May, the workshops will explore the question of what it actually takes to build a fantastical world. For anyone who’s always wanted to create their own universe.
