CURTAIN UP!

To mark the opening of the new season in September 2024, we presented a live installation on the main stage of the MiR that combines music with innovative AI art. Backstage, Barış Pekçağlıyan and Nora Krahl controlled AI-generated visual worlds in real time – with the movements in the projections being guided in real time by Nora’s own movements in front of a thermal camera. Using Stable Diffusion, they created a visual experience that brought the music to life. At the theatre festival that followed, the audience were able to blow out an infinite number of candles at the MiR.LAB birthday table and test whether they were already immortal. A teaser for the play in development, “Plenty of Immortality”.
