Martin Homrich
Singer
The tenor Martin Homrich studied singing with Kurt Moll. His first engagement took him to the Hamburg State Opera, before he moved to the Saxon State Opera in Dresden in 2001. During this time, alongside major Mozart roles such as Tamino (‘The Magic Flute’), Tito (‘La Clemenza di Tito’), Don Ottavio (‘Don Giovanni’), Belmonte (‘The Abduction from the Seraglio’) and Ferrando (‘Così fan tutte’), he also performed the role of Flamand in R. Strauss’s ‘Capriccio’, Tom Rakewell in Stravinsky’s *The Rake’s Progress*, Macduff in Verdi’s *Macbeth*, Hans in Smetana’s *The Bartered Bride* and Max in Weber’s *Der Freischütz*. His wider repertoire includes, amongst others, the title role in Massenet’s *Werther*, Beethoven’s *Fidelio* and Wagner’s *Lohengrin*. Martin Homrich has been working as a freelance artist since 2009 and has made guest appearances at opera houses in Berlin, Dresden, Essen, Hamburg, Kassel, Cologne, Munich, Vienna, Wuppertal, Zurich, the Landestheater Innsbruck, the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the New Opera in Moscow, the Opéra National de Paris, the National Theatre in Prague and the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma. He has been a permanent member of the ensemble at the MiR since the 2017–18 season.
